Australia's Top Carpooling & Ridesharing Apps on iOS in Q1 2021

The first quarter of 2021 has provided interesting insights into the carpooling and ridesharing app landscape in Australia on the iOS platform. Here's a look at how the top apps have fared during this period, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with downloads starting at around 25K in the last week of December and seeing a dip to approximately 18K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users showed a similar trend, starting at about 451K and fluctuating throughout the quarter before settling near 428K.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides, another major player, saw its downloads begin at roughly 15K and experienced a moderate decrease to just over 10K by the quarter's end. The weekly active users for DiDi exhibited a gradual increase, starting at around 128K and growing to approximately 143K.

Ola Cabs experienced a steady performance in terms of downloads, beginning the quarter at about 8K and ending with a slight rise to almost 6K. The weekly active users count for Ola Cabs showed an upward trend, starting at 155K and peaking at around 169K before a slight drop to 157K.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads were initially at nearly 4K and saw a slight increase throughout the quarter, ending at around 3K. The app's active user base began at about 79K, peaked at 90K mid-quarter, and then decreased to roughly 78K.

Lastly, Shebah - Ride with us!, a service unique to Australia, had a lower number of downloads, starting at 1.8K and fluctuating slightly throughout the quarter, concluding with around 1.1K. Active user data for Shebah was not available.
